Acceptable Use Policy

Version 1.0, effective

What you may not publish to your screens or do with the Service.

Why this policy exists #

Nayto publishes to screens in physical places, where the people watching did not choose to look and often cannot look away. That is a stronger reason for rules than most software has. This policy forms part of the Terms of Service and applies to everybody using the Service on your organization's behalf.

What you may not publish #

  • Anything unlawful where the screen is, or that you do not have the right to show - including music, video and images without the licence the venue needs.
  • Sexual content involving minors, in any form. We report it to the authorities.
  • Sexually explicit material, unless the screen is somewhere only adults can see it and the law allows it there.
  • Content that promotes violence, terrorism, or hatred against people for who they are.
  • Harassment, threats, or content that discloses somebody's private information without their consent.
  • Content designed to deceive the people who see it - false claims about products, scams, or anything meant to trick a person into a payment or into giving up information.
  • Rapidly flashing or strobing sequences that could trigger a seizure.
  • Personal data you have no lawful basis to display, including Singapore NRIC numbers and other national identifiers.

What you may not do to the Service #

  • Try to reach another organization's data, screens or content, or get round the permissions the Service checks.
  • Use another organization's pairing codes or screen credentials, or pair a screen you do not control.
  • Probe, scan, load-test or attack the Service without our written permission. Asking us first is usually answered yes; report security problems as our Security page describes.
  • Upload malware, or files made to harm the Service, the player or the screens it runs on.
  • Get round plan limits, or the Free plan's advertising, for example by altering the player or creating more organizations to stay under a limit.
  • Resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product, without our written agreement.

Reporting content #

If a screen running Nayto shows something that breaks this policy, tell us at legal@nayto.io: where the screen is, what it showed and when, and how to reach you. For a security problem, write to security@nayto.io. Copyright complaints follow our Copyright and Takedown Policy.

We do not review content before it is published, and we cannot see what is in front of a screen. We act on reports and on what we otherwise learn.

What we do about it #

We will tell the organization what we saw and ask it to remove the content or stop the behaviour. Where the content puts people at risk, breaks the law, or the organization does not act, we may stop the content from being shown, suspend the organization's access in whole or in part, or close the account, as the Terms provide. Where we can, we tell the organization before we act and give it a chance to respond; where there is a serious risk of harm, we act first and explain afterwards.

If you think we got it wrong, reply to our notice or write to legal@nayto.io, and somebody who was not involved in the decision will look at it again.

Where the law requires it, or where somebody's safety is at risk, we will report content and preserve evidence for the authorities.

How this document changes #

Every version of this document has a number and the date it applies from, both printed under the title. A change is published as a new version rather than an edit to this one, so what the document said on any day can be checked.

When a change matters to what you have agreed or to how we use your data, we tell you before it takes effect. Earlier versions are available from legal@nayto.io.
