Version 1.0, effective
The open-source software Nayto is built with, and how to get its licences.
Open-source software #
Nayto is built with open-source software, used under each component's own licence - among them the MIT, BSD, Apache 2.0 and SIL Open Font licences. The console is built with Next.js and React, our servers run on Node.js and PostgreSQL, and the player app is built with Flutter. The console's typefaces are Geist, Geist Mono and Schibsted Grotesk, under the SIL Open Font Licence. We are grateful to the people who make them.
Nothing in our terms restricts the rights each licence gives you in its component.
The Linux player's media libraries #
The player app for Linux plays video and sound with FFmpeg 5.1.6 and libmpv 0.35.1, used under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 or later. Both are built without any GPL or non-free part and linked dynamically, so you may replace them with your own builds; nothing in our terms restricts doing so, or the reverse engineering needed to debug such a change.
Their licence texts, the exact source each was built from and how it was configured are inside the player (in usr/share/doc/nayto-player of its snap). For three years from each release we will give anyone a copy of that source, for no more than the cost of providing it: write to legal@nayto.io.
Getting the full list #
The full list of components in a release, with their versions, copyright notices and licence texts, is generated from our package manifests. Write to legal@nayto.io saying which release you have - the console, or the version shown in the player app - and we will send it, with any source code a licence requires us to provide, free of charge within 30 days.
Trademarks #
Naming a component here does not mean its owner endorses us. Every trademark belongs to its owner.
Reporting a problem #
If you think we have missed an attribution or not met a licence, write to legal@nayto.io and we will put it right.
How this document changes #
Every version of this document has a number and the date it applies from, both printed under the title. A change is published as a new version rather than an edit to this one, so what the document said on any day can be checked.
When a change matters to what you have agreed or to how we use your data, we tell you before it takes effect. Earlier versions are available from legal@nayto.io.
